About This BlogI post a couple of photos when I go to shoot shows here, and then again, sometimes I don't. Sometimes, Mr. or Miss Artist chooses to step on the stage late, inebriated, surrounded by half of Scotland's yearly production of fog, and lit from the back. In blue. There is no amount of awesomeness (and I have metric shittonnes of it when it comes to taking photos of concerts) that can make something like that look good on a photo. In situations like these, I don't even bother to lift my camera. So, even though you may have seen me in the pit at some show doesn't mean it's gonna show up here. No need to flood the net with more bad photos, really.
While the people and the sound were awesome, the lights sucked. So, what are you gonna do? Adjust that fugly white balance in post? Pray that your Nikon service guy didn’t change your settings back to JPEG instead of RAW when you gave him your camera for repair, because mine did. Thankfully, I noticed that something was wrong around the 2nd song and checked my settings. I hope Down were not offended by the kinds of words I muttered when I found out that my first couple of pictures were, in white-balance terms, shredded dogfood.
Despite the questionable lighting settings (check above picture – the only color nightmare missing from it is green!), I did manage to snap a few good frames. Enjoy!
